Winter Magic

Winter of 2021 - 2022 was the very first time I stepped outside to photograph in below freezing temperatures. And what a world I had been missing! The light is fantastic since the sun is much lower in the sky creating a “golden hour” all day long with more subtle shadows and cooler light. I returned from shoots with numb fingers (I’ll purchase heated gloves for next year) unable to press the shutter button, but it was so worth it. The majority of the images below were captured within a block of my home. Needless to say, I discovered some big winter magic, so much that I was almost nervous for the seasons to change, worried that I had forgotten how to photograph spring and summer. ;-)
